OVERALL SITUATION--A continued northwest flow keeps the region cold but mainly dry--only occassional weak and moisture-lacking fronts dropping in and only light chances of snow showers.  We stay chilled down enough to keep it all snow showers though.  Upper level troughing to our north amplifies a bit this weekend and we'll be watching some moisture from the south approach--a more favorable setup for a storm but it may be too far offshore--will watch closely.

Today and Tuesday--Continued surface high pressure today keeps us dry and cool--west breezes pick up as we watch late day clouds and overnight snow showers from an approaching cold front for northern resorts.  A reinforcing surge of cold air (cold front) arrives early Tuesday with a light round of snow showers (limited moisture again) and colder temps--minimal accumulations for northern resorts mainly (Bretton Woods/Cannon/Attitash/Wildcat/Black)--clearing overnight.

Wednesday and Thursday--High pressure once again (dry and sunny) thru midweek as a weak upper level disturbance skims by to our south.  A touch warmer Thurs with dry westerly breezes.

Friday and Saturday--Another cold front (limited moisture again) drops in from the northwest Friday--some light snow showers and minor accumulations.   Watching some moisture from the south Saturday--looking like an offshore track but will watch closely--CT

Long range forecast / discussion...February 12 to 16

Upper troughing to our north from the weekend may start to lift northward and allow more high pressure ridging over us through later next week.  That would diminish our storm chances and warm us up a bit more.  We could also be seeing upper troughing setting up through the west and pulling in more storms from the west.  Storms would be weakened and not as cold (mixing again)--CT
