AVERAGE TEMPERATURES FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR;

Low 28, High 51 (Highest ~ 65 in 1999+, Lowest ~ 02 in 1935)
-At 8,000 feet (About the base elevation of Kirkwood, "Twin Lakes");
Low 25, High 50

SUMMARY FOR THE NEXT 6 DAYS -//> UPDATED FOR THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5th at 1:48pm...Today and Friday -> A low pressure system is moving into the northwest US, and affecting the Pacific Northwest with rain and mountain snow, plus some rain moving into northern CA coastal areas. Winds increase and temperatures cool down. There is a chance for light showers mainly tonight and Friday morning, with snow levels up near 8,500 feet, and no accumulation expected.

Saturday and Sunday -> Partly cloudy with low pressure moving through up north. Temperatures look colder on Sunday, with mid and upper 20's for areas above 9,000 feet by Sunday.

Monday -> An approaching storm causes brief warming of temperatures. A hazy day is expected with a south flow of winds.

Tuesday and Wednesday -> A more promising storm system moves through with a shot of accumulating snow.

Long range forecast / discussion...November 11 to 14

--Late next week and weekend, more Pacific storms may start affecting the area with clouds, cooling, and possible showers (and snow).

--WINTER OUTLOOK; For the Tahoe region, we expect heavier than average snowfall, with most of it from January 1st onward, though we do expect some heavy snow to start falling this month and in December. Temperatures are expected to be near average, with some wide variations and extreme cold spells. We will be adding more detail to this as we go along. CM
