Maverick Mountain Ski Area (Base: 6,800', Top: 8,820')

6-day Forecast Discussion Updated for Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Our reputation for customized, skier/boarder friendly forecasts is growing but we still need to get the word out.  Please contact your favorite resort and put in a good word for us!

We currently have full customized forecasts for the following states/ regions;

WEST; California, northern Nevada, Utah,
Colorado, northern New Mexico, north Idaho, northeast Washington, and northwest Montana. We have long range discussions (very useful) for Western Wyoming, southwest Montana, and southern Idaho!

UPPER MIDWEST; Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin!

NEW ENGLAND; Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine!

We are expanding, and are made up of mostly local forecasters, or forecasters who have a first hand knowledge of the local patterns in the areas we cover. Please let your local resort know, if you would like to see Snowforecast.com covering their mountain!

We are holding some great ski related give aways this winter (like lift tickets to some Colorado, California, New Mexico resorts, weekend lodging + passes, some gear, etc.) - Basically, whatever we can get our ski industry partners to give away! If you want a shot at any of these, please log in to the Snowforecast.com Facebook page, and "like" us. We appreciate your use of the site!  Here is the link to our Facebook page (you need to cut and paste it); http://www.facebook.com/snowforecast.com

Long range forecast / discussion...April 26 to 29

--Late week we see a cooling trend and increased showers, with some snow at resort elevations. By Thursday and Friday we see chilly air and showers, with some snow at the resorts. This pattern could start to reverse this coming weekend (28th or so), with less clouds and warming again Saturday into Sunday (29th). Early May is looking generally warmer with more sunshine, and 70+ degree high temperatures in valley areas more common.

We are experiencing a moderate La Nina SST pattern that is expected to peak in strength this month, then weaken afterward and into summer 2012. The winter weather pattern is expected to deliver near to above average snowfall across the region. CM
