Description:
Nub's Nob has 3 distinct areas, the original Nub's Nob, Nub's Nob South and Pintail Peak. The front of original Nub's Nob is some of the top expert and advanced skiing in the Great Lakes. Chute, Scarface and Twilight Zone stare down at skiers from the main parking lot. All of the original slopes cut in 1958 are a part of the north facing front slopes. To the north the tall towers of The Mackinac Bridge are visible 30 miles away! Over the top of original Nub's Nob is Nub's Nob South. Tree-lined and gladed, beginner to intermediate, beautiful long trails wind through northern woods with views of Lake Michigan serviced by 2 triple chairs. Past Nub's Nob South you'll find Pintail Peak over a mile from the base area! Hailed at one time as "Michigan's best terrain expansion of the last decade" Pintail Peak features intermediate and advanced slopes, varying fall lines, a quad chairlift and huge warming house with Lake Michigan views, restrooms and food service. Nub's Nob was voted "Michigan's Best Ski Resort" in the 2005 Detroiit News reader's survey. Also rated the Midwest's #1 overall area in 2001, 02 and 03 by the readers of SKI Magazine. The ONLY midwest area EVER to receive North American overall Gold Medals from the SKI Magazine readers. 2 different peaks spread skiers and riders over 52 slopes in 3 distinct areas. Nub's Nob has been noted by customers and journalists for it's world class snowmaking, grooming, on-mountain food, value, friendly staff and service. Great snow, excellent grooming in a true family atmosphere. Known as the home of "The Midwest's Best Snow".
