We are holding some great ski related give aways this winter (like lift tickets to some Colorado, California, New Mexico resorts, weekend lodging + passes, some gear, etc.) - Basically, whatever we can get our ski industry partners to give away! --SHORT RANGE WEATHER DISCUSSION--

Updated for Today, February 09 - After mostly cloudy skies and areas of fog this morning, after some light snow yesterday and last night, another weak weather disturbance passes through over the high pressure ridge that is in place, for more afternoon through overnight showers. 1-2" of snow is possible above 3,500 feet and at the resorts, with some mostly rain in the valley areas, mixed with snow to start (snow level rises as we move form afternoon through overnight). Clouds clear some overnight and Friday morning, with areas of fog in some valley areas again.

Friday and Saturday February 10-11 - Mostly cloudy skies with areas of fog are expected Friday morning, with another weak weather disturbance passing through late Friday, for more light showers. Mostly light snow is possible above 3,500 feet and at the resorts (1-2" additional snowfall). On Saturday the chance for showers continues, but mostly light and with periods of sun mixed in.

Sunday and Monday February 12-13 - Increasing chances for showers are expected as high pressure ridging over the northwest US breaks down. Temperatures are also expected to be cooler, with lower snow levels, in the 2,500 to 3,000 foot range, as colder systems are able to push in. We could see better than the 1-2" of snowfall at the resorts. CM

Long range forecast / discussion...February 15 to 18

--Light snow showers may start falling in valley areas by next Tuesday and Wednesday as stronger storms move through the inland Northwest US, and drop toward the southeast. These will not be block buster storms on their expected track, with most west to east forcing dampened by a southward trajectory. The weather in the last half of February looks colder and more unsettled, with some snow expected in the valleys and mountains on an occasional basis, plus some potentially bigger storms (starting late next week/ weekend (17-19th).

We are experiencing a moderate La Nina SST pattern that is now weakening in strength, and will continue to weaken into this summer. CM
