::: MOSTLY SUNNY WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/ MOSTLY LIGHT SNOW SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY :::
DETAILED SUMMARY FOR THE WEEK -//> UPDATED FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8th...Today through Friday --BECOMING MOSTLY SUNNY AND MILD-- -> Low pressure moves south with mostly sunny skies expected today, then more sunshine is expected on Thursday and Friday. A low pressure system (not strong) will approach the coastline on Friday. Isolated snow showers are expected to develop Friday night as the first in a series of low pressure systems moves into the area.
Saturday through Tuesday --OFF AND ON SNOW (!!!), COLDER-- -> A weak low pressure system moves through on Saturday, with light snow across the northern Sierra Nevada Mountains and Tahoe. One low pressure system is moving out and a stronger one moving in on Sunday, with light to moderate snowfall expected. Lingering snow is expected on a colder Monday as low pressure slowly moves east. Another storm moves in on Tuesday, with more light to moderate snow expected. These are not big storms, but they are storms, so we will take them right? If there is a more southward track, or slowing of these storms, we will see more snow than forecast, so we will watch for that possibility. CM

Long range forecast / discussion...February 14 to 17
--High pressure ridges back in after Tuesday, holding across the west coast, but with more slight chances for snow late next week/ weekend. We are watching for better potential snow as we move into the 2nd half of February. Updates to the long range forecast are coming.
We have a moderate La Nina SST pattern in place through the winter period, weakening now and through the spring, into the summer. CM
