Description:
The 11 lifts, including New Mexico's only gondola provide the greatest lift capicity in the state, making liftlines very rare. There are 55 trails covering 750 acres with a perfect balance of terrain for all abilities. The Kiddie Korral is an all day ski instuction program for 4, 5 and 6 year olds. Instruction and equipment rentals are available for all abilities. Snowmaking covers 1,000 ft. of vertical and over 20 trails. Find glades, bumps, trails for cruising and the wide open Apache Bowl for some great skiing and snowboarding. Ski Apache sits on the northern flank of 12,003 ft. Sierra Blanca peak in south central New Mexico. It is "off the beaten path" and has been written up as one of "skiings best kept secrets". Elevations are high enough to catch a lot of snow, yet the southerly latitude offers a relatively mild winter climate with lots of sunshine. The southwestern atmosphere is genuine with a daily mix of anglos, hispanics and apaches as well as visitors from all over the world. All the focus here is in providing great skiing and snowboarding - no real estate or time shares etc. Enjoy the spectacular views from the top of Apache bowl at 11,500 - you can see 200 miles at a glance on a clear day.
