--SHORT RANGE WEATHER DISCUSSION-- Updated for Today through Tuesday February 03 - February 07 (Lots of sunshine after areas of valley fog in the night/ morning hours, becoming milder, into the 40's in the valleys and 30's at the resorts) - We will see strong high pressure ridging building north into southwest Canada and the western US (sharp ridge of high pressure), causing mostly sunny skies across the area, and milder temperatures. Temperatures will vary some, but the sun should be dominant, despite some areas of valley fog each night/ morning in some valley areas.

Long range forecast / discussion...February 09 to 12
--It looks like we may now have to wait until mid-February to see low pressure start replacing the high pressure ridge aloft across the western US. For now, a high pressure ridge aloft holds across the northwest US, for mostly sunny skies mixed with some fog in the valley areas at times. One caveat to this is a possible light snowfall mid next week, from a weakened Pacific storm that moves in mainly to the south.
We are experiencing a moderate La Nina SST pattern that is now weakening in strength, and will continue to weaken into this summer. CM
