6-day Forecast Discussion (lake level-6,750', resort summit-8,805')

Updated for Thursday, April 05, 2007

--(Our base forecast temperatures will be those expected at Big Bear Lake level, and base reported highs and lows drawn from the AWS weather stations, RAWS, or the NWS cooperative in the valley) Discussion...Low/ High -->Big Bear Lake; M/ M, (M/ M Fawnskin), Base; M/ M (on mountain sensors), -->Top; M/ M (Goldmine or Bear Peak).

OVERALL SITUATION TODAY and Friday - Weak disturbances aloft cause some clouds, but continued warm temperatures each day under slowly weakening high pressure. Light breezes are expected.

--THROUGH 6 DAYS - Saturday and Sunday - High pressure weakens Saturday with cooler temperatures and west winds developing Saturday afternoon. Cut-off low pressure moves through Sunday, with west winds and cooler temperatures. Light rain and snow showers are also possible Sunday into early Monday morning. Much depends, as usual, on the movement of this low. The surrounding environment should not be conducive to strengthening low pressure but we will watch.

Monday and Tuesday - Light snow Monday morning clears out to a mostly sunny day, again on Tuesday with decreasing winds.
