6-day Forecast Discussion Updated for Thursday, August 21, 2008

PLEASE NOTE: The temperatures shown for "base" are more of a mid mountain temperature forecast. In season (October through April) we will be back to forecasting base and top temperatures for our partner resorts like Mountain High.

OVERALL SITUATION TODAY -//> A weaker low pressure system moves through the northwest US and Montana today. We expect high pressure aloft to weaken, and west breezes to develop with dry air.

Friday and Saturday -//> A high pressure ridge builds in from Mexico, with warm temperatures under mostly sunny skies.

Sunday and Monday -//> More low pressure moves through the Pacific Northwest, with some west breezes expected under mostly sunny skies. CM

Long range forecast / discussion...August 27 to 30

-Tuesday through Thursday of next week look dry and windy with some cooling of temperatures, as a strong low pressure system moves through the Pacific Northwest again. The last few days of August we may see some subtropical moisture seep up from the south to help fire off some thunderstorms in the afternoons, we will watch. CM
