Some west winds are expected, and slightly cooler temperatures under mostly clear skies.

Thursday - The persistent low pressure system starts weakening and retreating some, with a less pronounced trough of low pressure across SoCal. Winds drop off quite a bit and temperatures warm some under mostly sunny skies.

Friday through Sunday - High pressure ridging starts to build in as persistent but weakening low pressure across the northwest US retreats. Mostly sunny skies are expected, with dry and mostly light breezes, plus a warming trend. CM

Long Range Forecast Discussion:
-23 to 29 June, 2013 - By next Monday through Wednesday we expect increased breezes-winds and slight cooling of temperatures as another cold low pressure system approaches and moves into the northwest US, causing a trough of low pressure and a southwest flow aloft across SoCal (again). By late next week + weekend (the rest of June), high pressure ridging builds in some across the west, with warming temperatures and less wind under mostly sunny skies. For now, the high pressure ridge does not look too strong, so temperatures should not become too hot (due to oh-so-persistent low pressure to the northwest). Early July and the 4th of July could prove to be the first real summer-like period of weather, with pretty strong high pressure ridging building in across the west.CM
